Our AI
Captions are generated by a free AI model on our own self-hosted server — no third-party AI cloud.
1. Introduction
Captionix AI ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is developed and operated by Vinnorokom. The App is an AI-powered tool that generates social media captions from photos you provide.
This Privacy Policy describes what data is collected when you use the App, how it is used, and your rights with respect to that data. It applies to the Captionix AI Android application available on the Google Play Store (package: com.vinnorokom.captionai).
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and discontinue use.
2. Data We Collect and How We Use It
We collect the minimum data necessary for the App to function.

3. How Your Photos Are Processed
When you tap Generate Captions, your selected image is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our caption generation server at caption-ai.vinnorokom.com.
On that server, the image is passed to a locally-running AI model which produces caption text. The image is never written to disk, never logged, and never retained in any form. It exists in server memory only for the duration of the request — typically a few seconds — and is discarded as soon as the response is sent back to your device.
We do not use your images for any purpose other than generating the captions you requested. We do not use them to train AI models, build profiles, or share them with any party.
4. Our Self-Hosted AI Infrastructure
The AI model that generates captions is a free, open-source model hosted entirely on Vinnorokom's own server. Your image and caption data are not processed by any commercial AI provider such as OpenAI, Google AI, Anthropic, or similar services.
All image processing happens within infrastructure we own and control, which means your content is never passed to a third-party AI cloud.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses a small number of third-party services for specific optional features:
- MyMemory Translation API — when you use the optional "Translate Captions" feature, the caption text (not your image) is sent to the free, publicly available MyMemory API. MyMemory's own privacy policy governs this interaction. Translation is entirely optional; your photo is never involved.
- Google Play In-App Review — the App uses Google Play's in-app review API to invite users to leave a rating. This is governed by Google's privacy policy. No personal data is collected by us from this interaction.
- Google Fonts — the Caption Overlay editor loads selected font families from Google Fonts servers. Google's privacy policy applies to those requests.
The App contains no advertising SDKs, third-party analytics, or behavioural tracking of any kind.
6. Device Permissions
- CAMERA — to allow you to take a photo directly within the App. The camera is accessed only when you explicitly tap the Camera button and is never used in the background.
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES — to allow you to select a photo from your device gallery. We do not copy, modify, or upload your photo library; only the single image you choose is sent for caption generation.
- INTERNET — required to send your image to our server and receive the generated captions.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES — used only when you explicitly tap Save to Gallery in the Caption Overlay editor, to save the composed image to your device.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes. We may disclose information only in the following circumstances:
- Legal obligation — if required to do so by applicable law, court order, or governmental regulation.
- Protection of rights — to protect the rights, property, or safety of Vinnorokom, our users, or others.
Because we do not retain any user photos or personal data on our servers, there is effectively no meaningful data to disclose.
8. Data Retention
Server-side: No user data or photos are retained on our servers beyond the single API request. Retention period: zero.
Device-side: Caption history, saved captions, and settings remain on your device for as long as the App is installed. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
9. Security
All communication between the App and our server is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. We do not log request contents, IP addresses, or any identifying information associated with image uploads.
Because no personal data is stored server-side, the risk of a server breach exposing your content is effectively zero. Local data on your device is protected by your device's built-in security (screen lock, device encryption).
10. Children's Privacy
Captionix AI is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted information through the App, please contact us using the details below and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Your Rights and Choices
- Delete local data — uninstalling the App removes all locally stored caption history, saved captions, and preferences from your device.
- Revoke permissions — you can revoke Camera or Storage permissions at any time in your device's Settings → Apps → Captionix AI. Core caption generation will continue to work for images already selected.
- Opt out of translation — the translation feature is fully optional. If you prefer no text to leave your device, simply do not use the translate feature.
- Opt out of in-app review — you may dismiss the review prompt without rating the App.
Since we hold no personal data on our servers, there is no server-side data for us to provide, modify, or delete on request.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page and notify users via an in-app notice or the Play Store update description.
Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
